Spectacle Saturday Prompt | November 8, 2025

This year, the world mourned the tragic murder of Jonathan Joss, a queer Comanche and White Apache Mountain musician and actor.

Perhaps best known for voicing John Redcorn in hit TV series King of the Hill, Joss was writing a graphic novel when he died and also fronted a band called The Red Corns. His musical career actually inspired the King of the Hill episodes featuring John Redcorn’s band, Big Mountain Fudgecake!

To honor Joss’s talent and legacy today, we’re sharing a compilation of Chief Ken Hotate’s best moments from the Parks and Rec official YouTube channel. It’s a satirical take on the relationship between the Indigenous people of Turtle Island (North America) and white colonizers.

Prompt: Get inspired by Jonathan Joss today. Make up some silly band names (like Big Mountain Fudgecake), sketch a scene of a graphic novel — see where your imagination takes you!
