The Gathering of Nations Powwow in Albuquerque, New Mexico is one of the largest in the world, with 700+ tribes represented from all over Turtle Island.
A powwow is a sacred gathering of Indigenous people to dance, sing, tell stories, and preserve history and heritage. According to one of the Indigenous narrators of the film, the drum symbolizes the heartbeat of Mother Earth.
