The Knife Angel is a sculpture created from a tragic and unconventional medium: weapons. While many of the weapons were donated by the public, some of the knives were supplied by police and had been used in violent crimes.
The artist, Alfie Bradley, created the statue to raise awareness of knife crime in the UK. The wings of the statue include blades engraved with messages from more than 80 families that lost loved ones to knife crime. These families were invited to reach out to the artist to share their message.
